Disk/dl reinstall or copy?

Presently I run wow of my laptop, wow has it's own drive(partitioned).

I am going to be getting a desktop and am not looking forward to installing through dl and dl'ing any patches afterwards if I find my disk and install through that.

I'm wondering if it is viable to just share out the drive and copy the whole thing to the new computer's drive through my network?
