Won't enter battlegrounds

so after about a month or so of inactivity I hopped back onto my account looking forward to a little more pvp grinding for my vanilla account. the thing is, not matter how long I wait or re-que (the counter literally reads about 2 days now) I just can't seem to get into a bg. haven't had this problem before so I'm wondering if it's just something on my end that I'm doing incorrectly after recent patches? I dunno, but any help is certainly appreciated

Players on expansion capped accounts, or xp stopped characters will be put into battlegrounds with others that are the same. This may result in a much smaller pool of potential matches. I'd say that's likely the issue here - there simply are no matches up with qualified participants.
