Ridiculously Massive Patches...

With the exception of the last four months, I have been an avid WoW player since release. After this little break that I took, I decided to give it a go again and try out the new talents and such on both of my accounts. I honestly feel like I've wasted 30 bucks this month.

While my internet connection is quite adequate for gameplay, I have a bandwidth limitation. I understand that this is not the fault of Blizzard, but it is my only option. Does anyone over there understand what it's like to use 3/4 of your monthly bandwidth allowance to download a patch only to find that you have to use the rest to download yet another patch. I have downloaded over 6GB of data just for this game in the last 2 weeks and now it's costing me 5 cents per megabyte to continue to download things that should have been on disc.

I would love to know why alienating paying customers who have bandwidth limitations is a good idea. Nobody is making me spend my money this way and it is definitely a choice on my part, but I don't get how you can justify having people download uncompressed programs with as much data as an HD movie.

I won't say that I won't keep playing or even buy the expansion, but this is absolutely ridiculous.

The patches over the last several weeks have been larger than normal, Aithe, but keep in mind we are preparing for an expansion launch. It is not feasible to have this data released on a disk and sent out to players or even implement this data into the Cataclysm content disks themselves.

If you have other friends or family that do not have any bandwidth restrictions you may wish to have them burn a copy of the patch content to a disk for you and you can install that way. Alternatively, you can also download the content using the internet connection of a local business that offers this service.
