Spell Alerts No Longer working

So the spell alerts UI option was working just fine on my shaman up until tonight. I had copied my interface folder and WTF folder because I was going to test a new addon (Roth UI). Installed the addon and then afterward I no longer had any spell alerts working on my shaman, when just an hour before they were all there.

The option is checked in the Interface>Combat section, and the opacity is set all the way to High. I have since removed the addons and am running with nothing but the original UI from Blizzard. But I still have no spell alerts.

I went to an alt, my mage, and all the alerts work just fine, both before this happened, after I installed the new UI and without any addons after I disabled them all.

Please, is there anyone that can help me. The only threads I found on the subject are a number of weeks old, and are basically unanswered. Unless I am asking in the wrong forums.

Addons can corrupt files specific to one character.

I'd recommend a reset UI - that should put everything back to defaults for you.

To do a full reset UI, you will want to save your addons in another spot if you wish to preserve them.

Then rename/delete or move your WTF, Cache and Interface folders while WoW is shutdown. Reboot your system.

Note, if you are running Vista make sure your permissions are set so it does not undo your changes.

More detailed instructions for different operating systems, including Macs are here.
