Was it right to report him?

Today, at Orgrimmar, I saw a player riding his flying mount. It wasn't some temporary stuff or anything, it was his drake, and he rode around freely.
He told me it was a glitch, but I felt that glitch or not, it should be reported so that others don't get to abuse it. But I did report him anyways.
Was it necessary? Or maybe I should've let him have a bit of fun?
