...with some form of the name Beowulf, you fail. Seriously...do you think jumping on the bandwagon and making a character of that name is cool? Well its not.

Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but isn't the name Grendel?? Last time I had to read that absolute piece of trash called a book was Senior year in high school (1998). Unless Grendelyn is Grendel's mother... I don't know, I hate that story too much to care really. Although the story in the book and forums coincide. People rambling on and on about how uber they are, just to get owned.

I was going for the feminine version of Grendel. ;)

Has anyone here even READ Beowulf?

Yep. I have a copy at home and read it in British Lit as well in High School. I thoroughly enjoyed it and many other stories inspired by it such as- The Legacy of Heorot http://www.amazon.com/Legacy-Heorot-Larry-Niven/dp/0671695320/ref=pd_bbs_2/105-0967675-2379600?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1194380852&sr=8-2

And Beowulf's Children-

Very good, now the lightning round. What epic poem is considered to be one of the world's earliest literary works?

I know this one but sadly, it's buried in the archives of my brain and is irretrievable at this time. I blame the small beings that are inside my head pounding away at my skull though. ;/ Besides, Honors English/British Lit was a long while ago.

I loved it in English class.

Course, I also thought reading Chaucer's Canturbury Tales in Middle English was a hoot, too.

I happen to have a 1901 printing of Chaucer including the complete Canterbury Tales as well. What was more fun was creating our own to go with it.
