Cross Server Gold for Gold Trade

What is the policy on trading gold between servers? Is it against the rules?

Example:

I give 200g to someone's alt on Spirestone and he, in return, gives me 200g to my alt on a different server.

The previous posters are correct, but, merely as a matter of corroboration, here's a response I provided yesterday to the same inquiry:
