So I heard the Darkmoon Faire starts around 4 AM server time. It's now 7:30 AM and I have yet to see it set up. I hope the workers are not being paid by the hour because they are just taking their sweet time.

Update: 4:45 p.m. PST:
As an update, measures have now been taken such that the Darkmoon Faire should be active on all realms after tomorrow's maintenance.

Thanks, folks. :)

As a matter of clarification, although the setup animations are currently active, the Darkmoon Faire shall begin in earnest on November 8; my apologies, however, for any confusion this apparent discrepancy may have caused in the interim. Perhaps the workers attended Brewfest? ;)

My, aren't we feisty this morning? :)

It seems the Event Calendar is inaccurate; the event shall, indeed, begin on the 8th.

My apologies, as it would appear I was previously misconstrued; the Event Calendar, for this particular month, is "inaccurate" because the event is beginning on Nov. 8 as a result of an issue that is slated to be addressed in the upcoming content patch. All that I wished to convey is that the in-game mechanics, and not the date on the website, are what determine when the Darkmoon Faire begins — thus, continuing to cite the Event Calendar as irrefutable evidence that the event must start today is not going to prove particularly fruitful. We're aware of what the calendar says.

I'm truly sorry that the Faire is running late this month, folks, but it's going to last the full week regardless — until Nov. 15. No need to fret. :)

THE PATCH IS TOMORROW!!!! :D
NOW I forgive you.
:)

I don't recall having said that; my department has no knowledge of the patch schedule, nor should anything be incorrectly inferred from my post to that effect. There's a content patch (2.3.0) coming up sometime in the near future, as we all know — that's all "upcoming" means, after all. :)

He's trying to cover his tracks... up next is the edit of his post... too late you've been quoted already! :P

I'm afraid you may have to explain what, precisely, I've "let slip." I realise using the word upcoming on a Monday can lead to misunderstandings, for which I apologise, but I honestly haven't the slightest idea when 2.3 is arriving — they don't tell Game Masters that sort of thing. No editing. :)

Q u o t e:
"Fixed in an upcoming patch" could simply just mean that the start dates are somehow screwed up at the moment and when the next patch goes live it will go back to properly starting on Monday. It doesn't mean 2.3 is coming out tomorrow.

This is, indeed, accurate. I'd like to apologise again if I was unclear before; it wasn't my intention to give anyone a mistaken impression. :)

Please update your event calendar, because it clearly states that Darkmoon Faire starts on Nov 5. Please also inform your GMs as I opened a ticket this morning and was told it started today.

Thank you.

Please read the entire thread, or at the very least all the blue responses, before replying out of needless misconstruction.

Thank you. :)

I've updated my original post in this thread with the newfound information; for now, I'd like to thank you folks for the patience you've exhibited. :)
