That's enough of that

For the second time in two weeks I've been locked out of my account due to a perceived change in the pattern of my log-in or whatever.

Knock it off.

Blizz may be under the impression that it's helpful, but it's not.

Do it again and I'm canceling my account.

Unfortunately, locks due to suspicious activity are due to a change from where you normally log in from. This is used as a security measure for your account.

Not True. For over a year now I log into my accounts either from home or work. Never at the same time of course, and it's the same area (5 miles apart). So these 2 locations should be considered my usual logins.

Well, turns out they aren't. Logging into WoW today got my account locked.

This is NOT working as intended.
Actually, it is.

Normally I only log in from my home, today as an example I logged in from a hotel on my laptop and was forced to change my password. So now every time I take my laptop out to a hotel, log in from work or anything other then my home I have to change my password???

How is this any more secure since I already have an authenticator?
It is an extra step to help secure your account and make sure you don't suffer the loss of your property.

I don't fly so it's never been an issue and frankly your attempt to equate a clumsy ill-conceived attempt to protect a computer game account with preventing people from blowing up airplanes is just sad.

For me this is simply another frustration in a long line of frustrations. Blizz releases patches and expansions they know aren't ready, they mess with the graphics and other stuff so that those of us at the minimum system requirements find it progressively harder and harder to play, they lock us out of our accounts when a computer program 'thinks' it might have been compromised, all of which overwhelms their customer service and technical support so that the phone queue is always full and it takes days to get an answer or fix (note that the blue who posted in this thread didn't offer an actual solution, just a reiteration of what was happening).

In short, they have been slowly but surely squeezing the fun out of the game.

And now they want us to buy more software AGAIN to go through all of it AGAIN, but this time not even for 10 levels of new content (well, it's kind of new; well, it's not really new).
We understand that you are not happy with this feature, we get that. We understand that you would like to cancel your account, we understand that. Unfortunately, I will ask you to please refrain from posting inappropriate language on the forums.

It is unfortunate, that you feel this is not something you would benefit from. It is a security measure in place for the best interest of the customers security. Which many companies do, specially banks. Not that we are a bank, but I would like to think that the items and property in game, are as much of value to you as the money and time spent for long period of time.

Thank you for your time, remember to secure your account before you do decide to cancel.
