The Only Prescription

So a friend and I are on the Shift Sands Scepter quest line to try and finish it up before Cata comes out. And we're both on The Only Prescription quest where you collect all the pages for Draconic For Dummies: Volume II, and we did a Ony 10 raid for the chapter that she drops but I was unable to loot it from the corpse, so I put in a ticket to a GM about it and he told me it was removed from the game, but my friend was able to loot it and several people on Wowhead had the same issue that I have and said a GM was able to give them the item.

So... I guess Im a little lost as to why a GM told me that quest and item were removed from the game due to Cata coming out, but other people are still able to get it.
