Q u o t e:
The first sentence is totally untrue. As far as I am currently permitted to see my account information, my credit card info is still there including card type and expiration.
The credit card being removed indicates that it will no longer be billed for your reoccurring subscription. The information listed doesn't show the information in full, it shows a few digits which all you to reference which card you were are or using.

I don’t really give a rats rectum about the gold/items. But I did send an email to Blizzard to asking them to return what they can. It’s doubtful I’ll return, though.
Then it is doubtful you will receive any items that were removed from your characters. Items restored during the compromise investigation process are sent via in-game mail to the appropriate characters. If items were removed from a guild during the compromise the Guild Leader of that guild will receive the items in their mailbox. If they do not claim those items after a specific period they will delete when the mail expires.

One more thing. I installed Windows 7 two months ago. It is virus checked weekly by two different virus scanners. Never, in two months, have they squawked about anything.
Exactly *7* days after my account is SHUT DOWN it gets a 72 HOUR SUSPENSION.
I'm not entirely certain what your point is. You were unable to figure out the method of compromise and 7 days after your pre-paid time expired the account was compromised. Did you confirm if the account actually expired on that date because we occasionally provide game credit from time to time which may have extended the expiration date. Not to mention the account could have been reactivated by the compromiser via game card, credit card, Pay pal, etc. . . .
Edit:

While I won't go as far as saying "Blizzard hacked me!", I will say they could do a bit more to further reduce this problem.
We actually go to great lengths, Wyngnut, but we can't stand behind you and monitor everything you do. You are responsible for your overall security.
Q u o t e:
1. Actually DELETE the payment info when users cancel. I honestly do not know if that could have been used to reopen the account. (I manually deleted this info today.)
The information is removed, you have to manually enter your credit card information in order to reactivate the subscription under that card.
Q u o t e:
2. Require a response to a confirmation email. Such as "Follow the link just emailed to you and name 2 of your characters to confirm reactivation of your account."
If you believe such steps are necessary you are welcome to post in the Suggestions forum.
Q u o t e:
3. Forbid the below (pasted from my account history) to re-subscribe a closed account?
Technically the listed method didn't re-subscribed, they used a promotional offer to add credit to the account which is a viable and often used technique for legitimate players.
I'm glad you were able to get your account back and that we were able to recover the items lost. Given the overall tone of this thread I will be locking it now.
