Blizzard giving into QQ has become REDICULOUS

First off ill say this, i know blizzard is a business, and business' are out to make money, but....

I'm not one to usually make topics about, well anything really. I play the game and accept the changes.

I first read they were taking out the insane title, well not taking it out, but making it unobtainable basically because certain reps wouldn't be in the game anymore. Do i have the title? No. Did it bother me it was getting taken out then, no. If i wanted it, i would've spent the huge amount of time this xpac has been out to get it.

Then i read that ZG along with its rare mounts and pets were going to be removed. Did i care that awesome mounts and a pet(with a model shared by several others) were getting removed, no. Did i care my favorite raid was getting removed, more so than the items, but still not enough to complain. Now i read that the pet will be dropped from somewhere else...

Blizzard said the reason they changed their mind about the insane title was because they got so many posts, emails, petitions, and letters. So i take it something similar happened with the razzashi hatchling. My question is, if these people really wanted either that bad, why didn't they take the time, which like i said earlier there's been a lot of in this xpac, to get them. Are the people complaining about these items not the people who still wont take the time come next xpac to get them...

Honestly, the real reason about the pet seems to be they're afraid of people selling them for high prices on the AH after cataclysms release. But why does that matter, do rare things not deserve a rare price? The people farming these pets at the moment have no more luck in getting it to drop than the people who are complaining it will be gone come cat. But yes, lets cater to lazy people.

This is just really becoming a joke and common sense doesnt seem to be too common anymore

Actually, Hotlava, the real reason was stated very succinctly by one of our Community Managers Lylirra, which I will quote for your convenience.
Q u o t e:

When we made the original announcement last month that certain pets and mounts would be removed, it was to inform players of changes that could potentially impact their gameplay. We know that there are many avid collectors out there and, whenever possible, we want to give players notice when a favorite item might be removed. In that same announcement, we also clarified that, while we didn't have any current plans to re-introduce the specified pets and mounts, if we happened to find a suitable location to add them back in, we would certainly consider it.

Totally reasonable, right?

Since then, we found an appropriate place for the Razzashi Hatchling, and it felt like a good opportunity to restore a pet beloved by so many. Naturally, we were excited to share this information with all of you, as we knew a lot of players were saddened to hear about the little guy's initial departure. There was no malicious intent, no crazy conspiracy behind this decision. We saw an opportunity to make the game more enjoyable that meshed with our design goals, and we went with it. Simple as that.

In the end, the worth of the Razzashi Hatchling isn't solely measured in gold, and it would be a fallacy to think that we create non-combat pets simply to provide players with something to sell on the Auction House for profit. To many, pets like the Razzashi Hatchling represent something fun and exciting, and that's just as valid a currency as any in World of Warcraft.

While I'm sorry you're at a financial disadvantage now, I'm hoping you're still be able to enjoy the pet for what it is (re: an adorable, head-bobbing reptilian sidekick) -- or, given that it will still be a rare pet, perhaps even find someone who will adopt it for a reasonable price. Good luck. :)

As for the Insane title, the decision was made based on player feedback. Though many believe otherwise, Hotlava, we have always maintained that we appreciate player feedback and do take it into consideration at all times. Though our Developer's design goals may not always mesh with what some of what players may wish to see implemented there are times when concessions can be made. This is one of those times, after reviewing the upcoming changes our Developers decided that they could adjust the requirements of the Insane title to allow it to still be obtainable.

I'm sorry if you feel that is giving in to QQ, or catering to lazy people. One would think listening to their customer base is a good thing. It should also be pointed out that the pet will still be rare it just won't be otherwise discontinued.

Are these people who are complaining, cause its not all players, maybe not even the majority, gunna spend the time to get it next xpac when they wouldnt spend the time to get either this xpac???

Irrelevant.

Edit: And seriously, this game isnt even the same game anymore, but does that matter to them. But they definitely better not take out a couple rare things amirite

No, it isn't. that is the nature of an MMORPG, Hotlava, it is ever changing and evolving.

Ya, thats obviously how i found out my info to make my post. You still dont address the fact these people who are complaining about the changes, very minor ones that really dont affect gameplay at all actually, probably wont spend the time in cataclysm to get the title or pet either.

Again, that is entirely irrelevant. I'm not certain why it has become important to you as you haven't made any point except that you believe we are catering to lazy players. It is their game play and our Developers design decisions.

Q u o t e:
You should know you dont get feedback from everyone, and on an issue like this it would be pretty obvious to me youre only going to get feedback from people who dont want to see these things taken out. I can understand the title more than the pet though. Takes an awful large amount of time to get.

No we don't get feedback from everyone but we get a fairly good sampling. The majority of the feedback was about the pet being removed, I'm not certain what your point is.
Q u o t e:

But the pet...come on...it can be farmed in one day by any class. The mounts are more of a rarity and more unique than the pet, but that doesnt matter?

Yes and no, it is a matter of luck so to say it can be farmed in one day by anyone is an exaggeration.

In either case, you are welcome to post your constructive feedback in our Suggestions forum where our Developers can review it. The forum you are currently posting in is moderate by Customer Support staff who do not develop the game nor are we liaisons with the Developers.

The reason its "hurting" me is because like i said, they could be worried about feedback concerning actual gameplay.

Who says we aren't, Hotlava? Our Developers and Community Managers are fairly intelligent people and are able maintain complex thought processes that include multiple subjects and sources of information. You have no idea how much time was spent discussing this matter nor how much time it takes to make the announced changes.
Q u o t e:

Ive played since vanilla and A LOT of things i enjoyed and liked have been changed and removed from the game completely, but like the blue said, thats the nature of mmos. So why in this case is it that big of deal that these 2 things were going to be removed?

It isn't that big of a deal, Hotlava, but as the post I linked from Lylirra said, which you claimed to have read, our intention was not to permanently remove those items. As previously stated if an appropriate location for the pet and mounts were found they would be reintroduced. A place for the Hatchling was found that made sense so, it is being reintroduced.

Q u o t e:
Lets say even 5 million complained! What does that then say about the 7 million that didnt?

I wouldn't even say 5 millions, Hotlava. Let us say just one person complained about the changes to the Insane title achievement. I say the achievement and not the pet/mounts because when it was announced originally that Zul'gurub was being changed and the mount and pet was being removed it was stated then that we would be looking for an appropriate location to add them back. So, honestly, no changes regarding the pet or mounts were generated by player feedback, it was already predetermined.

Now lets say that person posted their feedback on the forum, regarding the title achievement. A Developer or Community Manager saw that feedback and the matter was discussed. Our Developers determined perhaps it wasn't necessary to remove the achievement but minor adjustments could be made. Why? Because they thought it was a good idea.

In the end, Hotlava, though player feedback is appreciated, the final decision as to what does or does not get added or removed to the game is up to them. If they believe a player requested changed ran contrary to their game designs it would not make it in, regardless of the volume of the requests.

Also, what time is spent is also their determination. They manage their own time and work with multiple departments regarding the release of the upcoming expansion. Simply because one person spends time on one issues for X amount of time doesn't mean they are neglecting some other area.

Youre 45 and afraid to post on your main? Or at least a character that shows you arent just some troll?
But actually this is my thread seeing as i created it. But no, this public forum is not mine and was never stated to be.

No, Hotlava, because most of the people around here know that it isn't the level of your character that matters. Many posters post on a specific character and have done so for years, that is how they are known and their reputation isn't in question here.

Since it seems that antagonistic posts are the norm now I'll be locking this thread. Thank you all for those who participated in a constructive discussion. After all, that is what these forums are for, for players to discuss the game with other players.
