Authenticator question

I got a mobile authenticator for my old phone(a LG shine) a while back and my account has been much more secure ,but i have recently got a new cell phone(a LG cosmos) that(to my knowledge) is not compatible with the download from the mobile store and I was wondering if I should take off the authenticator on my account and delete the app.(the one on my old phone still works ,but I dont know for how long)

I certainly would not recommend leaving your account unprotected - but you would need to remove the current one if you wished to replace it with another mobile app download.

Have you seen the new dial-in authenticator that just got launched today? Might be something to consider if you need some time before getting another mobile.
