Saronite Bars and Economy Exploitation

Ever since a little while after WotLK was released there have been stories of accounts being banned for "Economy Exploitation" when, supposedly, all the player was doing was vendoring their stacks of Saronite Bars for 25g a stack. Now there could be other things going on too, but from the standpoint of an outside observer that only knows what they are reading in threads containing said stories, it appears as though making too much gold this way could get you banned. But with prices on practically everything, Saronite included, being so very low these days... On some servers, selling your ore on the AH is a definite loss even before listing fees and cuts. This leaves players having to choose between trying to find a buyer for maximum profit, or selling to a vendor for a guaranteed amount.

Some people just don't have the time or energy to deal with trade chat, trade windows, and COD mails when an option to make an immediate profit off our time investment is available. For those people, I ask: what's the deal with saronite and economy exploitation, and will we be banned for trying to make a reasonable amount of gold for the effort we put into mining?

Legitimately gained goods vendored through the AH do not trigger sanctions.
