Flagged for rename

Hi,

I recently did a character faction + realm transfer for this character.

I changed the characters race, appearance and name on the recustomization screen. Upon trying to login I found my character is still flagged for rename (by the realm transfer no doubt, her old name was in use).

Would greatly appreciate if you could remove that "flag" :)

I have already ticketed and spoke with a GM just now who didn't seem to understand what I meant, he told me that the problem was that I didn't need to buy the faction change (and is escalating the ticket)... but i was horde on my old server and now alliance so... if someone can help straighten this out that would be so awesome.

Yes and no. If I'm reading the conversation correctly the Game Master was trying to convey that in order to change the name of your character you simply needed to log into it. When you transferred the character was flagged with for a name change because there was already a character on that realm that shared the name. The flag is only removed once you have logged into the character and selected a new one. By initiating the Faction Change without logging in first you were still given the choice of selecting a new name but because you didn't log in first you never removed the original naming flag.

The wording was a bit odd and I apologize for any confusion caused. They had escalated your issue to have it addressed but you should be set now.
