Corehound Pet and Dial In Authenticator

I signed up for the Dial In Authentication service and completed the steps successfully, however when logging in, I've lost my Corehound pet. Is the Corehound only tied to the physical authenticators?

Unfortunately the battle.net Dial-in Authenticator will not grant you a core hound pup at this time, Ravain. :/

If this changes in the future, an announcement will most likely be found on one of our official sites.
