Battleground Deserter Debuff Bug?

The debuff itself is designed to apply to characters that leave the match prematurely. Unfortunately it can be applied if you disconnect as well.

My bigger question though is, why must I stay online 15 minutes after receiving the deserter debuff in order for it to go away? I log out to go to another alt, log back on and I still have the full duration of the debuff? Seems a bit silly.
Most buffs/debuffs tick down only when the character is online. If you believe it should work differently, Reizen, you are welcome to post in the Suggestions forum, our Developers will be able to review your comments there.

I honestly couldn't say, Pyropete. I'm not familiar with what developmental changes may or may not be implemented since those of us who moderate this forum aren't liaisons with Dev. My recommendation would be to post in the Bug Report forum as it is entirely possible that this was not an intended change or the Suggestions forum if you believe it was.
If not intended our Quality Assurance Team can look into it and see what can be done.
