ATI users, are we screwed from playing wow now?
Q u o t e:Keep in mind that laptops in general are not designed for gaming. While the video card you are using is still supported, recent changes to the game may be pushing the system beyond what it's capable of handling.
I cant change my card being on a laptop without the fear of possibly ruining my entire computer.
Q u o t e:I am also not sure what you mean by " new chipset that blizz didnt keep up with". It is up to manufacturers to provide driver updates that will often times fix performance issues.
Its not the card its the new chipset that blizz didnt keep up with. it got updated a week ago and blam it no longer works with wow.
Q u o t e:What steps exactly did you try? I'd hate to have to ask you to try steps that you may have already looked into. Also, World of Warcraft is generally tested with all the cards listed in our supported page. If there is a known issue with any particular card, we will typically provide information regarding known issues.
Everything that you are saying has been done already. Its is blizz's fault for not keeping up with the evolving gfx cards and updates to them.
Q u o t e:That is what we can try to find out. Supported does not imply fully functional. Performance issues will very depending on other factors, such as memory, cpu and other software that may be using to many system resources.
If it is supported then why cant I enter anything Northrend but everything else is perfectly fine.
Q u o t e:Not necessarily. Let's try focusing on information relevant to the issue and avoid making comments that can be avoided.
That shows there that if it was the card then I wouldnt be able to play at all.
Q u o t e:
You can find most of the information if you go to Start -> Run -> type dxdiag and press Enter. (Windows Vista/7: Press the Windows Key (the key with the Windows logo on your keyboard) + R (at the same time). Type in DXDIAG and press Enter or click 'OK', this will open the DirectX diagnostic tool.)
