Greetings all,

We are aware that many of you have been experiencing disconnection issues while trying to play.

Though the majority of these disconnections seem to be confined to the Stormstrike and Nightfall Battlegroups there have been a few reports from Retaliation as well as Emberstorm and Whirlwind. These disconnections may be caused by something on our side or by an issue with the route that you are taking while connecting to the realm. These instances are currently under investigation and though I have no specific information regarding this matter as of yet I will provide what updates I can when they become available.

In an effort to preserve the ready flow of information on this forum, it may be necessary to lock and delete additional threads related to this topic. As always comments and discussion are welcome, but please abide by the Forum Code of Conduct (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/forum-coc.html) in all posts on the World of Warcraft forums.

Well, you have acknowledged the issue, yet I honestly have lost faith in your willingness to even attempt to correct it, as there is no marginal profit in it for you. The ToS claims we pay to play the game in whatever state it is in, even if it is entirely broken, so what could you gain out of fixing this? All Blizz cares about is the money, not the customers themselves.

That is a ridiculous statement, Myralei, yes, the Terms of Use state that the game may not be uninterrupted or error free but that doesn't mean that we do not do everything in our power to resolve such issues when they arise. How you can claim that there is no profit in making sure that entire battlegroups can connect and play with as little latency and as much stability as possible is frankly a fairly absurd statement.

We care a great deal about our game and be it one person having issues playing or several hundred/thousand, we will always work to resolve what issues we are able to as quickly as possible.

Also, if all we cared about was money, which is a highly erroneous statement, it would be in our best interest to get this matter resolved as quickly as possible. Being able to play the realm and character one wishes to is kind of the point of having a subscription.

I will not further entertain these types of posts in this thread, they will simply be deleted if they continue.

I have been having problems for the past week or so on Kel Thuzad realm. I had 7 or so DC's in a matter 5 minutes this evening so I played on Akama for an hour with no problem at all. Hope it gets fixed soon cause I would like to play my 80.

If you have been having a disconnection issue for a week now, Tristan, you may want to visit our Technical Support forum.

Initial reports show that the issue has been found and should no longer be causing disconnections though they continue to monitor the reported realms.

It's good that Blizzard finally acknowledged there's an issue. But i still can't even get to the login screen. It still gives me an error message about memory when my computer has more than enough to accomidate the game.

I'm sorry, Bjorno, but that doesn't appear to have anything to do with the issue that this thread was about. The following post made in the Technical Support forum I believe is applicable to your situation.

I am playing from CA and I still have disconnection issue when trying to play on Gorefiend. Did they fixed the problem for all servers or just some?

My problem has been I log in, get horrible lag, then disconnect. My friends/guilds on are not seeing this problem at all. I log into Uldum a west coast server and I have no issues.

From my understanding this wasn't an issue that was on our side, specifically. It seems it was an network issue and the provider reportedly has been able to clear it up.

It sounds like you are having an issue with the route you are taking connecting to that particular realm. I will see if our Realm Technicians are aware of any particular ISP issues but you may want to visit the Technical Support forum and post your traceroute information. Someone a bit more tech savvy may be able to help determine where the issue is. If the trace does show that the issue is on our end that information should help our Technicians to track it down.

I'm not certain if the following post may help but it seems to have some troubleshooting steps posted for some of the disconnections players have been experiencing. Click on the Blizz tag to skip to the next blue post.

@Arienne - They claim to have fixed said issues, yet I have had people here and there still complaining, whilst others I've spoken to about it have had absolutely no issues whatsoever.

Whatever the issue is, they ought to fix it before Cata, yet I wonder if they will, simply because it is so close they may just think its ok to put it off in hopes that it doesn't entirely turn people off of playing in the meantime.

Myrialei, the issue that this thread was originally created for was resolved. That doesn't mean players are no longer disconnecting, it just means that they should not be disconnecting due to this specific reason.

Disconnections can be caused by a variety of reasons and even two characters who disconnect on or around the same time may be doing so due to different issues. Our Technical Support forum is the best location to seek troubleshooting assistance for such issues. They have a multitude of stickied posts that may be able to help. They will also try to answer what posts they can in that forum including collecting information on ongoing tech related issues.

If you are unable to get the matter resolved through the Tech Support forum it is recommended that you use one of the other methods of contact, either e-mail/webform or phone. This contact information can be found in the following link.

As this issue has been resolved I'll be locking this thread to avoid confusing this temporary disconnection issue with any others. Thank you all for your patience while the matter was investigated.
