"The Explorer" Master Riding

I looked on MMo-champion today and saw that they are giving master riding to people that get certain achieves. Why not give it to people that get the explorer title before cata drops. Just an idea.

The reason there are a couple of select achievements that will grant Master Riding, is because they used to award 310% mounts anyway, and they're quite difficult/time consuming to accomplish.

So this will apply to all achievements that used to give 310% mounts, such as Ulduar and ICC ones?

No. Those can be greatly trivialized in time, where Gladiator and What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been cannot.

Given that I have completed the Violet Protodrake achievement on multiple characters, I think I know exactly what I'm talking about and exactly how "difficult" or "time-consuming" it is.

You're making a false argument to make an irrelevant point, and it's bordering on trolling right now. The post I quoted in my last response referenced achievements that can be trivialized greatly once Cataclysm comes out, so it doesn't make sense to award Master Riding for them.

Whether or not you think What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been is easy to get or not is irrelevant to the point I was making, which is that the time and difficulty of getting this achievement will remain unchanged when players are level 85.

They may as well give out 310% riding for free to any player who has been max level for a year.

As much as I enjoy slippery slope arguments and their ability to run any sensible discussion directly into the ground, no, we don't plan to just give away Master Riding to anyone who's been 80 for a year. You should at least have a toothpick to prove your quality of play.

Mmm, slippery slop.

I almost wish that wasn't a typo. :)
