Hackers win again.

So as I was trying to help a friend get some of the horde pets by sending it across through the auction house, I had put it up in there for a smallish price while my friend was at the ready to pick it up. However, it was purchased by a bot that was camping the auction house. It was purchased so fast that I didn't even get a sale confirmation notice.

Outraged I contacted blizzard in regards to this. Only to simply get card stock replies in regards to this issue and other lackluster responses in general. The overall sentiment was that it seems there is nothing to do about it. I gathered a bit more evidence only to find out that they apparently didn't care. They simply fired off a survey to prevent me from continuing the issue.

And the hacker? Still there a day later on the same character.

Now for a few disclaimers. I KNOW its an auction house. It wasn't implemented for this purpose specifically, rather a means of selling to the other faction. Had the item been bought fully legitimately I would have been upset but still moved on. The point was it was purchased at a speed that is impossible for a person to have done normally.

Therein lies my anger over the issue. Blizzard refuses to give it back to me, and the hacker is still in its spot. Whats the moral of the story here? Blizzard doesn't really care and we should feel free to use these sort of unfair advantages? This isn't even the first instance of this issue and it continues on in favor of the hacker apparently.

Q u o t e:

This is not true, actually. There are plenty of perfectly legitimate addons which scan the neutral auction house for bargains and present a "buyout" option to a user, who can instantly click on them.

You have no proof that any exploitive activity occurred. You reported your suspicions, and that's all you can do.

Don't post things on the neutral house for a price for which you aren't willing to sell it to a complete stranger.

Indeed. It should also be noted that the Neutral Auction House has an extremely small number of items posted on it compared to the Faction Specific Auction Houses. It can take a person, who is looking at the Neutral Auction House, very little time to see a newly posted item. Even less time would be spent for those who are specifically keeping an eye out for highly trafficked items like vanity pets.

If you believe that this person is exploiting or otherwise violating our policies, Immugio, you are welcome to report them and it will be looked into but simply suspecting someone of something does not make it so.

If you believe your petition was not addressed appropriately or otherwise have feedback regarding your Game Master interaction the appropriate point of contact our be to write to [email protected].

Actually, Nayami, logs indicated that these transactions took place one second apart. The auction was placed one second and was purchased the other. Was that fast? Yes. Was that impossible and could only be accomplished by a program?

No.

We have access to a great deal of information, Nayami, and as stated already... if you believe someone is exploiting please report it and the matter will be investigated. The sarcasm you are posting with serves no purpose except to make you feel superior, also known as trolling.
