So I got an email about a week ago saying my account was frozen due to suspicious activity. Problem is i've been inactive since this past July. But i do use my battle.net account for starcraft 2 so I went ahead and changed my password then changed my email password and the whole 9 yards.

I check my account a few days later just to make sure everything is going fine and apparently I have an active account until december 6th due to a "1 month referral reward".

11/5/10 N/A 1 Month Referral Reward Active
7/21/10 $14.99 USD One Month Recurring Expired

I changed my password again just to be sure and I've always had virus and antispyware protection that I scan everyweek...i've never had a detection since I bought this computer in June. So how could they have phished my info and gotten my account running?

Usually, lock to suspicious activity just means that there has been a change from where you normally log in from.

The account was compromised and recruited a friend from an exploitative account. As to how the account was compromised that usually is on the players side, perhaps a keylogger or phished email, there are many possibilities. I would suggest to secure your PC and account. Here are some tips to avoid this in the future:
