So I made the switch to the new Dial-in authenticator yesterday and today I came home to see I was hacked. Everything gone off my toons. I have a completely clean system. No adware, spyware or viruses. A friend of mine was just hacked last week but he didn't have an authenticator.
I thought that the new Dial-In authenticator would provide me the same protection as my mobile authenticator but I was completely WRONG! As I write this, I'm waiting for blizz to complete my restoration of account. Hey blizz., your Dial-In authenticator doesn't work. Just a heads up.

Edit: typo

The Dial-In Authenticator will not prompt you each time to call in with your PIN number, Cosecant. The only time the Dial-In Authenticator will prompt you for a PIN is if the login location appears to be suspicious. The Dial-In Authenticator is not meant to replace the keychain or mobile authenticators by any means.

If you have not done so already, you may wish to re-add the Mobile authenticator back to the account to avoid a compromise in the future.

Q u o t e:
Umm.. wouldn't a hackers location seem suspicious and prompt the PIN?

Not if the "hacker" was local to the player, Tinydancer.

Q u o t e:
Did I misunderstand?

No, you did not misunderstand, Zosima. I should clarify my statement.

I meant for the OP to re-add the Mobile authenticator after removing the Dial-In authenticator from the account. My apologies.
