It shows on the blizzard support page, under the world of warcraft - in game - policies section 'Naming Policy Overview'

Under 'Restricted' is

'Contain "Leet" or "Dudespeak"

This category includes names which:

* Consist of language existent only in online communication (i.e. Roflcopter, xxnewbxx, Roxxoryou)'

If that is so, how is it that the name 'Noobs' is perfectly fine and a GM will do nothing when i ask that it please be changed?

It just seems to me that (even though it is slightly different spelling) the same word is still in there examples of name violations?

Technically speaking, Artinth, the name may have an association with Leet speak but that doesn't mean the name cannot also stand on its own as a name. If it had another qualifier added such as "pwn" or "rolf" there would likely be more immediate results.

What is considered "roleplaying" is a matter of perspective. There are varying degrees of RP that players follow that range from the fairly light to the more rigid in tolerance. Our goal is to remove obviously inappropriate names and names that are in clear opposition to the RP genre. Other names that remain rather questionable may eventually be changed but only after fully reviewed on multiple occasions.

If you believe that your issue was not handled appropriately the appropriate course of action would be to write to [email protected] so it can be reviewed.
