If your friend is having problems merging his account, he will need to contact our Billing and Account services for additional assistance. For security rreasons, we are unable to further assist via forums.
Keep in mind that gifting an account for any reasons is not allowed. You will not be able to merge a WoW account that is not registered and owned by you.
