I know I am one of the few in a huge game but when I started playing Wow (only about 5 months ago} I picked the realm that I thought was for my play style. Why are there so many non rp players on a rp pvp server? when I ask i get bombarded with insults and told blizzard does not care anymore and that rp pvp server means its an anything goes server pvp or rp. Did i really misunderstand it when i joined my server or does blizzard really just not care anymore? our server is filled with people that insult ,ridicule, and just run you into the ground every time someone ask a question or even attempts to rp their character at all.Does Blizzard have any plans to start making non rp people move to another server that more fits the way they want to play, or is there a real rp server that is monitored that I could switch too so that I can enjoy the game that I pay for?
My other thing is there should be a rule and punishment for spamming everything in in trade chat give the trolls their own channel so we can block that channel and still see whats actually being traded without having to sort through 50 post about sexual things, chuck norris jokes, or the responce to every question being your mamma does.or how doing that dungeon is worthless, or posting thunderfurry sword or the never ending anal post.

Very well said, Eilethalua, I don't think I have much to add.

We care a great deal about those who play on each type of realm, Deltorios, and we address what issues that are reported to us when they are reported. As time has gone by the sense of community on many RP realms seems to have faded somewhat. Though we do not require roleplaying on RP realms we do prohibit OOC conversations in public channels, we review names that may not fit in with the genre and if found in violation will change them. All of this is entirely dependent upon the residents of the realm though.

The idea that "nothing is done" tends to be viral in that once that feeling is had those people spread it to everyone else who may report a possible violation. Not to mention those who would be the target of the report try to convince others that nothing is done in the hopes that the person won't bother reporting them.

All I can recommend, Deltorios, is that you use the tools that have been provided to determine what type of behavior takes place on your realm. If multiple individuals are spamming with [item] messages, use the Report Spam feature, encourage others who share your views to do the same. If they are otherwise violating our Terms of Use, submit an in-game petition.

Q u o t e:
Vrakthris, on the point of Public Channels, does /say count? ((I talk OOC like this in it whenever needed.))

Technically, /say would count as it is a public channel but exposure is important too. /Say only has a limited range so affects a smaller amount of people. If you are using (( ))'s then odds are you are more mindful of what type of chat you are using and limit yourself to the occasional comment (i.e. someone asking for assistance/information where it is just easier to tell them while remaining out of character.

The occasional OOC comment is rarely the issue, these policies generally apply to the conversations taking place on the movie that opened up over the weekend, etc. . . . Especially when the conversation overrides any RP being attempted in a public forum.
