People who travel and the new account lockout

Hello,

Recently a change has been made to the logon process (i'm guessing 4.0.1) that locks your account out when logging in from a different location then normal. I first ran into this a couple weeks ago when I was visiting family in Asia. No big deal, I reset my accounts and was good to go, as expected this happened again when I came home to the states, no big deal. Then I had to fly out to a customer site, it happened again at the hotel, then when I came home..... My job has me traveling all over the place throughout the year and anytime I get somewhere new my account gets locked out. Then I have to wait 10 minutes or more to receive the email to unlock my account. This is starting to become quite the annoyance and prevents me from just logging on quick when I have a free moment to check something on my account.

Is there anything I can do to proactively alert you to the fact that I am in a new location or even something as drastic as opt out of this new feature? I appreciate Blizzard for enacting this change to bump up security but in this case it is quite a hindrance on me when I have 20-30 minutes to kill and just wanna run a 5 man real quick I end up burning half that time waiting for an email to unlock my account and by the time I receive I don't have enough time to play so I end up doing something else instead.

Regards

There is not an “opt out” option when it comes to this feature, Paliban. This feature is in place to prohibit unauthorized access to accounts, and it does seem to be affecting players who tend to do a lot of traveling.

What you may wish to consider is contacting Account Services and explain your situation. They may be able to provide further insight into this feature and discuss any options that may be available in these kinds of situations.
