I reported my name several weeks ago the name was Umadbreh. I also reported my characters wutsupdrood and Samooeljaksn at the same time. Umadbreh and Samooeljaksn received name change flags, and wutsupdrood had the name change flag next to his name in the character select screen. Umadbreh and Samooeljaksn were each changed, but when i double clicked myd ruid it gave no options to change name.

I put several tickets in which were deleted with noresponse (possibly bug on my end).

I just put a ticket in tonight and it was answered quickly, yet i did not receive the name change. The reason was that it was found to not violate the policy. Which it does.

I requested the name changes after re-familiarizing myself with the name changing policies, and the name Wutsupdrood is violation of the EULA TOS 7.A.(ix)"Comprised of partial or complete sentence (e.g., "Inyourface", "Welovebeef", etc)"

As evidenced by the original ticket, my name was found to be a violation of the policy, and can be found so in the future, especially since A LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT contradicts this GM entirely.

Does Blizzard WANT me to violate the rules or something? Do you WANT me to get banned so i can pay you to rebuy this game? That's sure as hell what it's starting to seem like -.-

For clarity, Kekful, you have submitted a total of three petitions regarding the possible naming violations. The first was originally addressed and a couple of your character's names were flagged for a name change due to plausible violations of our Terms of Use. The second petition was addressed and it was determined at that time that the name you were reporting did not necessarily warrant a name change. You currently have a petition in and it is under review.

I am sorry for what confusion was caused by this but please understand that our goal is primarily to address names that are deemed inappropriate for this teen rated game. Names that may fall under the other categories such as partial/incomplete sentence, non-rp, etc... are discouraged, but primarily enforced on realms with special rules sets such as roleplaying realms.

It should also be pointed out that violations of our policies are determined at our sole and absolute discretion. In this particular case it looks like the original naming flag was not applied at the time, when you submitted another petition the Game Master did not reference your previous petition and therefore, since character was not on an RP realm felt it was unnecessary to force a change.

Luckily, while referencing the previous petition the current Game Master was able to take care of this matter.

For future reference if you believe an error has been made by a Game Master it is best to write to our feedback address so it can be properly reviewed by their supervisor. The e-mail address is wowgmfeedback-us@blizzard.com.

Im on an rp server. Ive had my name reported in the past when it was rp oriented, but i had a special character like an รก. People who didnt like me could report me and get away with it. Now blizzard allows special characters of course.

It wasn't a matter of getting away with it, Titanserpz, special characters were prohibited at the time and thus if reported your name was legitimately changed.

Q u o t e:
However, the point, I switched to an orc warrior for racial reasons, and named him this lovely name. I reported myself for breaking rp rules and just straight out naming policy. I recieved a ticket telling me that I could change my name through the paid transfer.

I'm sorry, Titanserpz, though you may be focusing on a specific way of interpreting what you named yourself, obviously we don't agree.
Q u o t e:

I had other players report my name, which I was sure it would have worked. Still no avail.

Which simply shows that though you may be focusing on spelling out the last part of your name it isn't readily interpreted that way unless you are looking for it.
Q u o t e:

The best part about this, is if a gm was going to make me change names, I would have just changed it to the same thing but with a special character. I had no intention of changing my name. I just wanted to see how blizzard would react.

So you were challenging us by naming you something that you believed to be a violation of our policies and if validated you were going to continue to violate those same policies? Some leeway is given, Titanserpz, but obviously disobeying a Game Master is not recommended.
Q u o t e:

It just shows that blizzard is more to make a dime than follow their own policies.

No, it goes to show that we are not so gullible as to change a name simply because it is reported as a violation. We actively review reported names and determine if they warrant a name change based on our policies, not your perceptions.
