Transferring CD-key

I am posting on my gf's account because I had sent her a recruit-a-friend invite a day ago.
We then went and bought the game, and created an account as normal entering the CD-Key into the new account. However, I wasn't aware that she had to add the CD-Key onto her trial account, thus nullifying an future bonuses I would recieve for recruiting her. Obviously now it is impossible to add the Cd-key to the trial account because it is already linked to the created account. But would it be possible for Blizz to remove the WoW1 account, so we can just use that Cd-key for the WoW2 account, which is the trial?

Thanks for any reply.

Unfortunately removing WoW1 from the account will not free up the key, Esperlee.

An authentication key can only be claimed on one account. Once the key is tied to an account it will no longer be valid nor will it be transferable. Based on what I can see, your issue has been resolved. For future reference these are the options available under these circumstances.

1. If you wish to keep the characters on the recruited trial account you may inquire about getting a replacement key. This may take a bit longer and is not always guaranteed.

2. You may request to get the upgraded account linked with Recruit-a-friend in order to get the bonuses. I believe this is the option you went with. =)
