Blizzard Copyright Question

I know Blizzard usually doesn't mind when players use Blizzard copyrighted materials for things like machanimation and the like, but if someone were to make a mod for another game based on an in-game Azeroth location, as long as that person does not make money from it, would this be okay? The only example I can think of currently is the DOTA issue, but DOTA was made as a mod for a Blizzard game.

What I'd like to do is make a Left4Dead2 campaign map of Stratholme and possibly Scholomance if the demand is there. I'm not looking to make profit or donations; I would however like a blessing from Blizzard or permission if it's required. I would not be using models, textures, or sounds or the like.

Yes, but this is also a "Customer Service" forum. ;) It's nice to see others' feedback in the meantime.

Unfortunately those of us who post here don't have any say in what players may or may not do in regards to copyright situations. Those sorts of requests are best handled through our Legal department, as Flatspriest indicated.
