Enchanting

I have done a brief search but haven't found the issue i am facing so sorry if this is a double up.

When ever i enchant i cannot tell if it has worked or not until i ask the person i am doing it for to check item.

I receive mats, then they put the item in the "Item will not be traded window" i click on the enchant then click on the item and it still says"item not modified" it used to say "item is modified" when it was successful.

However if i click on trade the person im doing the enchants for can see that it has been modified. i cant cause i still cant inspect anyone.

I have done a full UI reset, deleted my WTF and Addon folders and still the problem persists.


Is this a known issue or is there a new way to do enchanting since 4:01a?

Actually, your description is only a partial reset UI and therein may lie the issue.

A full reset involves 3 files.

WTF, Cache and Interface.

To do a full reset UI, you will want to save your addons in another spot if you wish to preserve them.

Then rename/delete or move your WTF, Cache and Interface folders while WoW is shutdown. Reboot your system.

Note, if you are running Vista make sure your permissions are set so it does not undo your changes.

That was indeed the recommended remedy for the inability to inspect other players and worked for almost everyone experiencing the issue.

Does sound like something was a bit off and has been resolved, so that's a good thing.

As for the enchant portion, I'd recommend writing this up in the bug forum so our QA folks can have a look. Also, please do mention that you did do a full reset UI, that's likely to be their first recommendation :)
