Will my friends account still be banned?

Sorry if this has been posted on 2 different subforums, he really wants to know

My friend has been bugging me to ask this so I'm gonna finally do it.

About two or three years ago ( he can't really remember, but neither can I) his account got hacked and someone impersonated a GM and he got permanently banned. He's wanted to play again and he logged in on his old account on battle.net and it said he had never bought the game to start with, now what he wants to know is that if he adds gametime and buys it again, will his account still be banned?

If your friend has access to the registered e-mail address associated with the account, he is able to dispute his account action by e-mailing [email protected].

If he no longer has access to the registered e-mail or does not remember any account information, he may contact our Billing and Account services. With proper account verification, the registered e-mail can be updated. An e-mail sent to [email protected] may still be required for further account investigation.
