Missing profession & Cataclysm predownload?

There are actually a few workarounds that help some players, Born.

They won't help everyone - depends what your particular symptoms and causes are, but may be worth a try if you haven't already.

For crafting type professions /cast professionname will usually bring up your list say for something like enchanting or tailoring.

For gathering professions just trained, going to Shattrath and retraining seem to be helping many where the skill doesn't seem to be 'sticking'.

In all cases, totally resetting your UI can't hurt and often helps.

To do a full reset UI, you will want to save your addons in another spot if you wish to preserve them.

Then rename/delete or move your WTF, Cache and Interface folders while WoW is shutdown. Reboot your system.

Note, if you are running Vista make sure your permissions are set so it does not undo your changes.

If none of the above seem to remedy this, placing a petition for us to look into this further is perfectly appropriate.

There are still issues our developers are continuing to address, Born.

Of course they will all be taken care of with time. Some are a little easier and quicker than others and indeed a great many of them have already been resolved.

Speaking from a strictly personal perspective - having played many MMOs over the years, I can honestly attest that Blizzard has one of THE best track records in this genre for not only having the fewest issues - but also addressing them as expediently as possible.
