Recruit a Friend Experience Bug

Hi,
I recruited a friend 2 days ago, who in turn accepted, created a trial, and then upgraded that trial to standard WoW.
On my account page in Referrals and Rewards it says my account is linked to his, but the staus is only orange, saying he only has a trial, when he actually has the full version.
On his account he isn't linked to anyone, apparantly.
In game, we are within 4 levels of each other, under lvl 60, and quest together within 100 feet.
We're following all the rules, but we are not able to summon one another, or get the 300% bonus.

Can a GM/customer service staff member please have a look into what the problem is?
Our other friends recruited as well, the bonuses didn't take affect straight away, but now they have, and they're leveling ahead of us.
This is really annoying, so any feedback would be much appreciated.
I opened a ticket in game 2 days ago. Still awating a reply there.

I checked the status of the account you recruited, Aszhalia. I show where you sent him the invitation and he accepted it properly. When he purchased the games to upgrade the trial account he inadvertently created a new account which is why you aren’t receiving the benefits.

I may be able to fix the mistake but I need for you both to be logged out of the game completely. Once you both have exited the game please update the thread.
