Very Unreasonable GM

So, someone was unable to get loot but they killed the boss. He released because of the in game "in combat" glitch on regular gunship in ICC ten. We couldn't rez anyone because we had the combat glitch. Yes, it sucks he died, rather embarrassed... but still because of the glitch he released and I looted the chest because of a communication error. IRREGARDLESS, I have heard of tons of people being looted items they have deleted or in fact have plain out released early on accident. I don't understand the issue w/ him being looted the boots. I have them in my bags on my druid not like I need plate... How can it be impossible, when in fact you MADE this game. How can it be impossible to delete the one in my bags and make one item appear in his bags. We aren't trying to cheat the game, the person was in the raid the entire raid, we aren't making unreasonable requests.... I expect something to be done about this with-in a reasonable amount of time. I have wasted time of my life due to something that could've and should've been dealt with by now, not to mention the fact that the item should've been looted to the person in the raid at my request irregardless of release, etc. If this doesn't fall under the guildlines of receiving loot and this GM was right, then I apologize and I'm done playing this game. If this does fall under the guildlines of receiving loot I would expect the GM to be reprimanded at least. If not more for the simple fact that this wasted my time - should've taken five minutes.

these are screen shots of the convo between me and the gm, yes i was a little agitated at the fact that he couldn't be looted the fact irregardless of how loot happened etc..

I edited those out because we don't allow ANYONE to be called out on the forums, Patalonious, that's against our forum code of conduct.

Essentially, the Game Master was correct that a player needs to be inside the instance to be eligible for loot. Some newer players may not be aware of this, but it's been a mechanic forever. That may be something worth mentioning prior to a raid if you have some less experienced players with you.

That said, I am going to pass this along to see if there is any way an exception can be made. Absolutely no guarantees there, as this denial was in line with our policies on that issue. Just a word of caution - should an exception BE made, they are rare - and a one-time thing so it will become even more important if you are running raids or are the loot master to avoid this type of thing in the future. A little communication upfront with your raid-mates can go a long way :)
