Disappearing Dungeon Loot

Not sure if anyone else has had experiences with disappearing dungeon loot. I have many toons, and this is the first time it has happened to me.

I recieved the item [Glowing Eye of Mordresh] from a player in a dungeon. S/he won the roll but we later traded items. We both accepted the trade. The item I was trading left my inventory. The [Glowing Eye of Mordresh] went into my inventory.

After the dungeon was over, I tried soloing a quest inside the dungeon that the tank was not interested in doing. Long story shot I died and after looking back into my inventory 2-4 minutes later, the item was no longer there!!

I have tried relogging and turning off my addons to see if that would help. It did not. I did not sell or drop the items for 100%.

I was wondering if there was anyway to get the lost item back? Any help or insight on the issue would be greatly appreciated!

I have already made an in-game ticket, however it says that there are currently a high volume of petitions so I am looking here for some assistance.
