Credit Card fraud

I was contacted last week about suspicious activity on my credit card. The card in question is primarily used for my Blizzard subscription and very rarely for anything else. It is never used for purchasing anything online except the Blizzard sub.

This week packages started arriving for things I had not ordered. I've never heard of a case of credit card fraud where the person(s) stealing the credit card number buy things for the person they stole it from. To make it worse, the purchases were for other subscription type things, ie: book clubs where you are sent a book every month.

This got me to thinking that maybe I had inadvertently signed up for these things through some Blizzard transaction so I thought I would check with you. Is it possible that is what happened?

We do not share your credit card information with 3rd parties, Zeena, so it would not be possible to inadvertently sign up for something through our site that would automatically charge the credit card we have on file for you.

You may wish to contact the other companies to gather more information into the transactions themselves. Perhaps a friend or family member used the card without your knowledge? If this is not the case, then consider contacting the credit card company directly so they can start a fraud investigation if needed.
