When will professions work again?

I can not mine even though I have it as a profession. This has been an issue with some professions since the patch. I consider not being able to use one of your professions to make money in the game a serious issue and one that should not take weeks to fix. What is the estimated date we can expect this to be fixed? Right now I feel like most of Blizzards resources are going towards the expansion and all the issues the last patch caused are not a priority. Will we have to wait and continue to pay for things that don't work until the expansion comes out?
