Zul'gurub removal

I don't understand the reasoning. It's a beautiful instance, lush, and full of trolls. You don't get better than that. The fights are fun, you can get some easy cash, cool items drop (got an orb of deception from there the other day) and it's fun to just chill in. I just spent two hours there on my pally killing bosses and collecting Bijous. That was fun, more fun than running heroics I think. I know this will fall on deaf ears, but I just want to know why Zul'gurub is being removed.

We feel Zul'Gurub will serve the updated old world much better as a new questing area (and potentially a space for future dungeons), rather than an irrelevant instance. We understand there are some cool flavor items there, but that alone just wasn't justification enough to keep the place walled off so a very tiny fraction of the playerbase can continue farming endlessly for these items. One day maybe these items will make their return when the timing and implementation feels right.

Would there be any possibility to make the drop chances higher, before it is removed?

No.

We should go ahead and remove every pre-80 instance as well since they're ultimate only relevant to the amount of players at a given time that are in the level range.

What's a smaller percentage, the amount of people that still enter zg for any reason, or the number of people that are level 32 at any given time?

Just don't see why it's irrelevant; because it doesn't drop 277 gear?

There's quite a difference between running dungeons as you level to gain experience and get some good gear, versus trying to get a level-appropriate raid group together to grab some epics.

Non-Heroic five-player dungeons are designed for players to easily get a group together and run while leveling. Raid dungeons are not designed that way and not so user friendly.

If you feel this way about this 1 instance. Why not just Remove all lvl 60 and 70 irrelevant instances, and then when Cata comes out just go right ahead and remove all of Lichking raiding content. I mean really. everyone will be lvl 85 and will never want to go back to any of those instances again.

On a side note I'm also sure there are still lvl 60 exclusive raiding guilds still around.

You saying that 1 raid instance is irrelevant vs all the others is bogus.

If we want to use those areas for something else, maybe we will. We're not going to remove raid dungeons for no reason. Zul'Gurub is a great outdoor area and fit really nicely with our ideas for the updated leveling experience in Stranglethorn Vale come Cataclysm.

These "I'm going to be contrary" arguments are getting a little old. We make a design decision you're not happy with, so you roll the train of thought straight off the mountain to try and make a point.

Noted. Other raid dungeons in the world are currently irrelevant. Excellent point. Thanks for attending this thread.
