Password reset but not by me

I tried to log into my WoW account last night but was denied access. I then checked my email that is used only for WoW. I had a message saying I changed my password. In the email was a link to click to change my password so I clicked it. It took me to battle.net and a screen for changing my password. I then changed it and tried again to log into WoW. This time it let me using the new password. Nothing was touched. Everything was just as I left it when I logged off. I then ran a Spybot S&D scan and there was nothing except that I had windows update turned off. I hit fix the problem and then logged into my account and changed the password again.

It should be noted I use 2 separate computers. One for playing WoW and related emails and the other for surfing. I have downloaded addons to a data stick and use that to extract them to my WoW computer. I always scan the files before I extract them to the Addons folder.

What I would like to know is how my password got changed without my doing it? The email is used only for WoW. I get no phishing emails or spam of any kind, only Blizzard emails for things like server transfer and the like. Should I be like really, really scared I may be hacked? I'm afraid to log off of WoW now for fear I won't get back on.

Yes, I have an authenticator.

I don't think you need have much worry in this case, Voshara.

This was a side-effect of being reported for spam. The reset was from us, while it's always a good idea to review your security, I don't think there was any kind of compromise involved here.

Terribly sorry for the scare :)

Q u o t e:

I was being reported for spam? I hardly say anything to anyone. I has a sad. :(

Oh, don't be sad!

Actually, I suspect it was someone's mod that picks up on URLs posted ingame. We see that from time to time, I didn't really see anything 'spammy' in what got reported.
