BlizzCon Ripoff

My friend Majokko (game name on Hyjal) is a long time WoW fan. He's played WoW since I introduced him to it in beta. He does not miss a day playing. He really loves WoW.

So when his boss at work informed Majokko that he'd bought an extra ticket for Majokko to attend BlizzCon this year, my friend was estatic. He made all the arrangements, time off from work, hotel rooms for him and his daughter (who he paid for her and a couple of friends to go to DisneyLand while he attended BlizzCon), and then spent 9 hours driving from northern California down to LA.

However, when he went to check in he was told his ticket had already been picked up. So he calls his boss, who comes and points out that the previous evening, when the boss had picked up the 4 tickets he had bought for him, his wife, and kids, the Blizz employees had specifically not let the boss pick up Majokko's ticket because they couldn't give out the ticket without a proper ID being presented. The Blizz employees printed out all 5 tickets, but would only give over the 4 with the boss's name on them.

Majokko had proper ID at 8am. And logic would say that if the Blizz employees wouldn't give the ticket out without proper ID the night before, then they wouldn't give it out to anyone else, so why wasn't it there this morning when Majokko came to pick it up? The policy is that the ticket can't be given out without proper ID, so the ticket not being there this morning means it was given out WITHOUT proper ID. Can anyone think of a reason a ticket might be given out without showing proper ID? I can think of a few reasons.

Majokko says he tried arguing for 2 hours, but to no avail. In fact, there was one employee there who just sat there with a smirk on his face. A smirk that said, "We know you are being ripped off, and there is nothing you can do to change that."

So now Majokko sits in his hotel room for 3 days. He can't drive home as his daughter has her 3 days at DisneyLand. He's not in the best of health, so this was probably his only chance of ever attending a BlizzCon event. He didn't even get the stupid pet he paid $150 for.

To say Blizzard screwed over a long time fan is an extreem understatement.

While this isn't an in-game issue, you do have my apologies, Majokko.

Let me pass this along for further review.
