Merging changes account name?

Ok so I had a question about account names and merging. Awhile back before merging and everything you managed everything on worldofwarcraft.com. So lets say I had a different name I used to set that up. Now everything has changed and I have recently merged my Wow account with my battle.net account but my battle.net account has a different name. So what I was wondering was, when you merge your Wow account with the battle.net account, does your new account name become the battle.net account name that you used? I really hope this makes sense, thanks for any answers.

You sign into Battle.net with your email, yes.

Now, if that old WoW account had say a nickname used - or say a legal namechange, you may wish to contact Billing and get that rectified.

The reason I am asking is because I am wanting to transfer a hero to another account once I create it. But, the account I am using now was originally setup with a different first and last name, but my battle.net account uses my real first and last name. So when I merge the account does that first and last name originally used stay connected with the account when it was first created or will it be replaced by my real first and last name after I merged it?

I am trying to figure this out so that way I can setup the second account and know which name too use for the account, that way the character will transfer.

That's why I recommended contacting Billing and getting your full proper legal name on the account. If you ever have to recover that account and provide ID documentation, it becomes vital we have accurate information on our records to be able to assist you.

It was my brothers and he no longer plays the game.

Then it's not your account.

Was he a minor? Are you a minor? If so, it should be in a parent or guardian's name and they ARE allowed to share with one minor per account.

This is getting complicated - I'd still recommend calling Billing and discussing this with them.
