Upgrade a normal Cata account to CE?

Hello,

Back when the Cataclysm CE was pre-orderable through amazon.com I pre-ordered a copy and selected "Release Date Shipping" however, with the announcement at Blizzcon that a digital copy of the game could be pre-ordered and downloaded before release, I decided it would absolutely be worth it for me to take advantage of this so I could join my guildmates at 12:01.

The question I have is in two parts:

- Will it be possible to pre-order the Cataclysm CE to take advantage of the pre-download, or however that's going to work?

If not, I would have absolutely no problems purchasing an additional normal version of the game to get me in at 12:01, but THEN since my account had already been upgraded, would I be able to further upgrade that account to Cataclysm CE in order to receive the in-game pet once my physical CE box arrived later that day from Amazon?

Please clarify if you can.

If the upgrade process for Cataclysm will be anything like its predecessors, you should be able to upgrade to Cataclysm with the standard edition and then upgrade with the collector’s edition once it arrives.

In years past we were able to provide a replacement key for the standard edition purchase if the item was purchased within the last 30 days. Details on whether or not this same procedure will take place for Cataclysm remains to be seen.
