My escalated ticket.

Hi!

I recently wrote up a ticket (Sunday afternoon maybe?). However, I realized that I didn't have time to be online for the six odd hours it would take a GM to answer the ticket, so I logged for a bit to work on productive stuff (I know!). Anyways, I come back later that evening (or more accurately this morning at 1 am...) to find that the ticket was escalated!

I didn't know what that meant, but again I didn't have time to stay much longer until later in the afternoon. My ticket was still escalated. Google told me that an escalated ticket had to wait a shorter period of time than the others (an hour I think?) in queue. So I figured that I'd probably have to wait a bit longer. However, it's been seven hours and I'm curious if there's a way to know how much longer I should expect to wait.

I don't want to log off and make GMs stall my ticket any more but at the same time, but at the same time, it's a bit hard to be on for long hours during a semester. Advice?

Actually, you can close that petition if you like, I can answer your question, as asked, here :)

This is not something we will be able to tell you prior to your transfer.

While some names can sometimes be 'freed', the criteria for that is very strict. Until you are actually on the realm that's not a question we can even answer - as the answer may change between now and then. We cannot 'reserve' those names for you now for a future transfer - even if they would be available.

You'll want to petition once you are on the realm.

Now, as to using the Armory to look up names, that's just not a very good resource for this. Characters under level 10 aren't going to show. Trying to make a character on the realm with that name is the best way to see if it's available or not.

Does that help at all?
