Long story- need advice

I have a dear friend who lost her job in February this year, she was unable to play WoW due to being very low on cash.

Her "boyfriend" willingly offered to pay for her account till she got a job and was able to pay for her own account, that turned into an 11 month gift.

A few days ago, they broke up, I guess he called his credit card company and claimed that his credit card was stolen.

Now her account is banned and Blizzard wants $160.00 back pay before they will activate her account again.

My question is this, if she called billing and explained the situation to them, that it wasn't a stolen credit card used on her account, could he get into trouble for making a false claim? I'm worried about the black mark this puts on her account and think this is very underhanded of him.

It's an unfortunate circumstance, Sinewy, however there is very little we can do.

While our billing and account services team may be able to work something out in regards to payments, we have no control over stolen credit card claims. In this case we wouldn't be able to pursue further action against the credit card holder.

Advise your friend to call in and speak to a representative regarding payment options and any other possible options.
