Authenticator / account hacked

Either way, it appears he didn't take the necessary steps last time to prevent it from happening again.

If they added an authenticator his email IS compromised. He does need to followup on this so that when he comes back his account will be as intact as possible.

But first, he needs to be certain of his system security - and his email is absolutely compromised if they added an authenticator.

You may also want to look into getting an authenticator for your account. It's no substitute for good security habits, but it will help keep them out of your WoW account.
