Blizzard Post
Before anyone misconstrues the title, I would like to clarify that this is in no way a "Dear John" letter to Blizzard, or that I have any intention of leaving WoW permanently. I want to make sure that anyone who reads this understands that the sole purpose here is to attempt to make both sides stop and think a little, rather than picking apart pieces of my post to quote and twist for their own devices. I do believe this belongs in the Customer Service forum, because it is directly related to complaints and counters regarding the current state of Blizzard's customer service.

I will admit that I'm not leaving completely - my account is canceled as of the moment, and my play time runs through the middle of next month. I'm hoping to see some improvements by then, and if so, I will be reactivating my account. If not, I trust that the bugs, issues, and glitches from this patch will be fixed with the release of Cataclysm, and subsequent patches after the release of the expansion. I intend to reactivate my account, at the very latest, on the day I pick up my copy of the expansion.

I'd like to make another note here, before accusations start flying concerning when I started to play WoW. I am a Wrathbaby. I was introduced to WoW roughly one and a half years ago, by friends of mine who began playing in BC. My fiancee' has been a member of the WoW community since Vanilla, and has helped me come to terms with the issues in the patch, and constantly reminds me to have patience.

I can see the viewpoint of both sides here: those who are irritated with the customer service and those who support what they are doing.

To those who are having issues, I offer you this one suggestion - have patience. Companies run into snags all the time, but truly loyal customers never abandon them. Granted, I have stated that I have canceled my account, and it may seem somewhat contradictory. I renewed my account the day of the patch. I think that a month will certainly be enough time to show some sort of progress.

To those who are "cheerleading" and attempting to be hurtful or mean to those who are irritated - be understanding. Some of these people, like myself, have never been through an expansion before. They don't understand why everything is so messed up right now and they're hurt because they feel like they've been left by the wayside.

Overall, given the amount of issues with this patch and the way that it is being handled by customer service, I can honestly say that I expect nothing more, but also nothing less. I believe the patch was poorly timed, but that Blizzard rushed it in a misguided attempt to please their customers. Customer service - keep doing what you're doing. The baddies will weed themselves out, on both sides of the spectrum.

TL;DR - Blizzard has the benefit of the doubt from me, for now.

Whiners need to suck it up or speak with their wallet.

Cheerleaders need to have compassion.

Have a nice day. :)

You may not be aware of it but nearly every day since the patch there has been progress. As issues were discovered hotfixes were developed and implemented. Some issues require different resolutions as they can not be fixed through the same method. Each type of resolution is being implemented as quickly as they can and though some of the more prevalent issues such as the cog wheel freeze/disconnect have not yet been resolved our Developers will do so as soon as possible.

Agreed. Though we do appreciate everyone's support and faith please understand that though you may have seen the same complaint or statement many times already the person posting hasn't. They are just looking for information a bit of understanding and perhaps a way to vent. Though this is in no way a complaints forum it doesn't always need to be thrown in someone's face. :)

I wish you well, Malice, and hope that you will be able to renew at the end of the month. :)
