I have recently convinced a friend to rejoin WoW after 2.5 years of being dormant (she's come back to the dark side!)
She's started her Battle.net account, updated her details on her WoW account and when trying to merge her WoW account to her Battle.net account, she's run into a problem.
She did not play at the time that Battle.net was introduced so this is all brand new. She has a Blizzard authenticator and when trying to merge her WoW account to the Battle.net account, it asks her for her country/region, account user name, and account password. The next screen prompts her for a code from her authenticator. She has the original authenticator, enters a code from it, then it bounces her back to the previous region/username/password screen and says 'Your login was invalid, please try again'. Thinking this was a fluke, she has redone it several times with no result.
After looking around a bit, we think the trouble may be that she has a *Blizzard* authenticator and not a *Battle.net* authenticator as the section that wants the code says: "Please retrieve a code from the Battle.net Authenticator attached to this account and enter it in the field". She has never had a Battle.net authenticator before.
After looking through the support forum and topics, we cannot find any assistance with this.
We both live in Australia so calling the customer service line is not always reasonable - they close about 1pm our time while she is still at work.
Is a blue or knowledgeable forum troll able to assist? How can we get this sorted out?
Thanks for any productive suggestions :) Appreciate your time.
