Mages doing less damage than tanks at 85

I am a little worried about this, apparently the 80 nerfs completely broke mages at 85 as was apparent with today's raid testing.
Q u o t e:

The raid had 6 pures and 13 hybrids. Mages are broken right now and are doing way lower damage than they should. One of those leftover 3 pures was a lock that was doing healer-level damage leavign us with just a hunter and lock. Both of them are capable of meters topping in raids when played properly as I've witnessed myself (locks and hunters in the test raids have been 15k+ on bosses without too much problems and there are no premades in EU).

To be honest I'm fairly surprised to see DPS that well balanced.

(world of logs isnt work for the cata bosses yet, but you get the idea)

Q u o t e:

Mage dps is absolutely awful in raids and plagued by mana issues on top of that.

In our 25 man raids today, all 4 mages (2 arcane, 1 frost, 1 fire) were consistently below the Paladin TANK at the bottom of the meters for almost every attempt ! Both dps and mana needs to be addressed for all specs of Mages (Fire and Arcane probably suffer mana problems most, Frost maybe not so badly).

We are in a very bad position right now and should be considered an hindrance to raiding. Please address this before the next phase of raid testing :(((

I am not sure if it was the level 80 balancing or what but I am hoping something is done, I am not sure what they can do with arcane that won't make it insanely OP at 4 stacks though.

This is a case of having to balance differently between 80 and 85. The original mage numbers were targeted at 85, which made them overpowered at 80. We nerfed them at 80, which then made them weak at 85. We now have two sets of numbers in place so that they should be relatively balanced at both levels.

Mages are not the only class with this problem, sometimes in the opposite direction.
