Unsure if Beta invite was legit!

Hello I was hoping someone here could check and see if I may have an error or verify if I got fooled.

I received e-mail on 10/16/10 stating I had been selected to the beta! First thing I did was check my B-Net account and sadly no Beta was listed. The E-mail however stated it could take 24 hours. So I waited till over the weekend and check back Yesterday. Still nothing on my account. I deleted the e-mail thinking I had been scammed.

While speaking to a guildie today who IS in beta I was told something interesting. Apparently the e-mail I received was identical to her official invite, even from the correct source. She said she heard they have a had some folks get invites but it's not showing on the B-Net account for some people with multiple accounts on one B-Net account.

I searched the forums and as far as i can tell it was a legit e-mail, sadly I don;t have it to double check, and also found the thread from EU regarding PTR issues and Cata Beta.

I only post here as I hope it's true I got in and only a tech issue on my account. I have a second account I never use but I noticed with the 4.01 PTR that my PTR access was listed under my second account Identifier WOW1 and not the main account. Based on the issues in the aforementioned thread I was wondering if someone could check my account and see if it's an error. I hope so but if not I'll be content to wait for the chance at a true Beta invite.

I strongly suspect that was a phish, Kanldar.

Although it can take awhile for it to show up, you should see beta in your options under games through Account Management. I'm also not seeing it listed on the account you are posting under here.

Some of those phishes are quite good - in fact, sometimes they use OUR emails and simply doctor links to bogus look-alike sites. You didn't follow any links or provide any information did you? If so, I'd take steps to scan your system for malware and change your password ASAP - in that order :)

I do show a PTR on this account. Many changes are already live there, you may wish to play there for awhile if you'd like to see some of the upcoming changes.

The best way to tell if you are truly enabled for beta is check Account Management.
